SheZone

ABOUT

SheZone is a sports club for girls and women across age, ethnicity, cultural affiliation and physical ability. Their purpose is to give all girls and women the freedom to practice sport. They offer different classes like swimming, yoga, dance and fitness only for girls and women. The training takes place behind covered windows and in closed rooms to ensure privacy and to create a safe space to practice.

SheZone is mainly driven by volunteers who all contribute to create a haven for the girls and women where community, sport, play and movement is in focus.

VOLUNTEERING

Common to all their volunteers is that they want to get involved in the association and help strengthen the community - the most important thing is therefore that you want to contribute to SheZones’ community.

You can volunteer in different tasks in SheZone:

Lifeguard:

As a lifeguard in SheZone you are responsible for the safety of the swimmers in collaboration with the swim instructors.

Your tasks include:

  • Supervision of the pool, jumping in and providing first aid in the event of an accident

  • Ensure general safety

  • Help SheZones members to observe the rules

As a lifeguard it is required that you are at least 18 years old, a good swimmer (you can swim 50 metres at maximum 1,5 minutes and you can dive down to the bottom of the pool at 3,8 metres). You don’t need to have a lifeguard certificate beforehand, as they will help you with that.
